We are alive

He has kept us alive, and has not allowed us to fall Psalm 66:9 Thanks be to God who has kept us alive throughout the past year. We give him all the praise, honour and adoration for such a great miracle. It has not been easy for a lot of us. People have changed jobs, marriages have gone through difficulties, and some had to start life all over again after traumatic experiences. But in all these, the Lord has kept our heads above the waters. This is very interesting and very inspiring. Therefore as we bid farewell to another year in the Lord’s calendar and welcome another year, we give thanks to the almighty God, who has been our help and our shield. Who stands behind us like a mighty warrior, Who fights our enemies and bring them to nothing, Who listens and hears us in spite of our sins The Lord who has brought us out of the miry clay and set our feet upon the rocks. He has helped us wake up after surgery And every morning too, he brings us fresh grace, Wisdom and mercies to take us th

You have regarded the lowly state of Your Maidservant

And Mary said my soul magnifies the lord And my spirit has rejoiced in God my saviour For He has regarded the lowly state of his maidservant, for behold henceforth all generations shall call me blessed For He who is mighty has done great things for me and holy is His name And His mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation He has shown strength with his arm, He has scattered the proud in their imagination of their hearts He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things and the rich He has sent away empty He has helped His servant Israel in remembrance of His mercy As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever. Luke 1:46-55 He shall be great and be called Son of the Highest For Behold You will conceive in your womb and bring fourth a son and shall call his name JESUS. He shall be great and shall be called the son of the Highest and the Lord God will give him the throne of His father David And

I am the vine

I am the vine, you are the branches Those who remain in me and I in them will bear much fruit For you can do nothing without me Whoever does not remain in men is thrown out like a branch and dries up, such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire where they are burnt. If you remain in me and my word remains in you, then you will ask for anything you wish and you shall have it. My father’s glory is shown by your bearing much fruit \and in this way, you become my disciples. I love you just as the father loves me; remain in my love John 15:5-9 The Helper I did not tell you these things at the beginning for I was with you, but now I am going to him who sent me, yet none of you ask me where I am going. Now that I have told you, your hearts are full of sadness, but I am telling you the truth, it is better for you that I go away because if I do not go, the Helper will not come. If I go away, then I will send him to you, when he comes, he will prove to the people of the world that the

Do not spend your energy and money on sex

You are my own dear son, the answer to my prayers What shall I tell you? Don’t spend all your energy on sex and all your money on women, they have destroyed kings, Listen, Lemuel, a king should not drink wine or have a craving for alcohol When they drink, they forget he laws and ignore the rights of the people in need. Alcohol is for people who are dying, for those whop are in misery Let them drink and forget their poverty and unhappiness Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves Protect the rights of all who are helpless Speak for them and be a righteous judge. Protect the rights of the poor and needy. Prov. 31:2-9 You cannot please God without faith For without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him Hebrews 11:6 Trust in the Lord It is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you, but if you but if you trust the lord you are safe, Prov.29:35 Strengthen yours

Living the life of righteousness

When the Poor cried out, I helped them I gave help to the orphans who have no where to turn Those who were in deepest misery praised me And I helped widows find security I have always acted justly and fairly I was eyes for the blind And feet for the lame I was like a father to the poor And took the side of strangers in trouble. I destroyed the power of cruel men and rescued their victims. Job 29:12-17 This is the testimony of Job, one of the righteous men who ever lived and whom God was very proud of. His testimony about his social life should be an inspiration to all Christians We must all endeavour to live like job, helping the poor and putting smiles on the faces of sad people. There are people whose words always bring grief to people’s hearts and leave them wondering. That kind of attitude would not be the hall mark of Christians and people who would want God to brag about them. We must endeavour as Christians to take leadership seriously whenever we may find ourselves so that we

I trust in you for Safety

I trust in you for Safety Protect me O God, I trust in you for safety, I say to the Lord, you are my Lord All the good things I have come from you How excellent are the Lord’s faithful people My greatest pleasure is to be with them Those who rush to other gods bring many troubles on themselves I will not take part in their sacrifices I will not worship their gods The Lord are all I have, and you give me all I need My future is in your hands How wonderful are your gifts to me, how good they are I praise the Lord, because he guides me And in the night my conscience warns me I am always aware of the Lord’s presence He is near and nothing can shake me So I am thankful and glad, I feel completely secure Because you protect me from the power of death I have served you faithfully and you will not abandon me to the world of the dead. Psalm 16:1-10 Path that leads to life You will show me the path that leads to life Your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever Psalm 16:11. The

Lift up your eyes

I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help? My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved, He who keeps you will not slumber behold He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul, the Lord shall preserve your going out and coming in from this time forth and forevermore. Psalm 121 Peace be within you For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say "Peace be within you Psalm 122: 8 House of the Lord I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of the Lord Our feet have been standing within your gates O Jerusalem Psalm 122:1-2 Strength and Honour Strength and honour are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come Prov.31:25 Fruits of her hands Give her of the fruit of her hands and let he

Punishment for disobedience

The Lord said “If you will not obey my commands, you will be punished, if you refuse to obey my laws and commands and break the covenant I have made with you, I will punish you, I will bring disaster on you-incurable diseases and fevers that will make you blind and cause your life to waste away. You will sow your seed but it will do you no good because your enemies will conquer you and eat whatever you have grown. Leviticus 26:14-16 More Punishment I will turn against you so that you will be defeated And those who hate you will rule over you. You will be so terrified that you will run when no one is chasing you Leviticus 26:17 Further Punishment for disobedience Even if after all this you still do not obey me I will increase your punishment seven times, I will break your stubborn pride, there will be no rain and your land will be dry and hard as iron. Lev. 26:18-19 Blessings for Obedience “If you live according to my laws and obey my commands, I will send you rain at the right time
Deal gently with me Lord Deal bountifully with your servant that I may live and keep your word, open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from your law. Psalm 119:17 Your laws are my song Your statutes have been my song in the house of my pilgrimage I remember your name in the night Oh Lord and I keep your law This has become mine because I kept your precepts. Psalm 119:55-56 Seamen know how great the Lord is Oh that man would give thanks unto the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on great waters They see the wonders of the Lord and His wonders in the deep For He commands and raises the stormy wind which lifts up the waves of the sea. They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths; their soul melts because of trouble. They reel to and fro and stagger like a drunken man and are at their wits e

I will praise you with my whole heart

I will praise you O Lord with my whole heart, I will tell of your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in you I will sing praises to your name O most high When my enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at your presence For you have maintained my right and my cause You sat on the throne judging in righrteousness You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked, You have blotted out their names forever and ever O enemy destructions are finished forever And you have destroyed cities; even their memory has perished. But the Lord shall endure forever He has prepared his throne for judgment. He shall judge the world in righteousness and He shall administer judgment for the people’s in uprightness Psalm 9 :1-8 Refuge The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble And those who know your name will put their trust in you. For you Lord has not forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:9-10 Praises Sing praises to to the Lord, who dwells in Zio

We shall reap from doing good

And let us not grow weary while doing good for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Gal. 6:9 Live in the spirit If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit Gal. 5:25 Envy and jealousy will destroy us Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Gal. 5: 26 It is important for Christians to live in peace with other brethren and even worldly people. Wherever we may find ourselves, let us support each other. Envy and jealousy should not be part of anything that we do. We should avoid becoming jealous or envying our friends, brothers and sisters, colleagues etc over their looks, social status, money, education or anything. Envy and jealousy can gradually steal us away from our faith in Christ and we may drift into the path of destruction if we allow these two to possess us. Whenever feelings of jealousy and envy attempts to engulf us, let us remember the word of God which tells us to be wary of jealousy and envy. Our God is able to p

Peace and Mercy

“And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them and upon the Israel of God.” Gal. 6:16 The Cross “But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.” Gal. 6:14 Grace “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians2:8 Do good Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all especially to those who are in the household of faith. Gal. 6:10 Fruits of the spirit But, the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such, there is no law. Gal. 5:22 Care for other believers Beloved doing good to the house of faith is an essential ingredient of the Christian life. As Christians, there is the need for us to do good towards one another. It is important that from time to time, we look around our various congregations to find thos

Prov. 1:10 You will not be hindered When you walk, your steps will not be hindered And when you run, you will not stumble Prov. 4 :12 He guards your path He guards the path of justice and preserves the way of His saints Do not turn your neighbour away Do not say to your neighbour, go and come and back and tomorrow I will give it when you have it with you. Avoid it do not travel on it, turn away from it and pass on, for they do not sleep unless they have done evil, and their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. Prov.4:14-16 Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil It will bring health to your flesh and s

Poverty and slumber

A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep, So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler And your need like an armed man. Prov. 6:10-11 Do not lust after her beauty Do not let lust after her beauty in your heart, Nor let her allure you with her eyelids, For by means of a harlot, A man is reudced to a crust of bread And an adulteress will prey upon his precious life. Prov. 6 :25-26 Be careful of the adulteress woman My son, keep my words, And treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live And my law as the apple of your eye. Bind thme on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, your are my sister And call understanding your nearest kin. That they may keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words. Prov.7:1-5

Be Blameless

Do all things without murmurings and disputing: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. Philippians 2:14-15 Be bold and strong Be bold, be strong for your lord your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9 Endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ Thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ 2nd Tim 2:3 As Christians we have been called into a life of victory and glory as well as prosperity.Sometimes, as we walk through our victories we may encounter difficulties. However these difficulties are not meant to destroy us but to make us strong in our faith. The bible says that in all these we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. This means that it does not matter the problems we are going through, we are more than conquerors.Hold onto this truth and work up your faith unto victory.Paul tells us in his letter to Timothy that we shou

Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor trouble from the wicked, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes For the Lord will be your confidence And will keep your foot from being caughtProv. 3:25-26 The curse of the Lord The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the just. Surely He scorns the scornful but gives grace to the humble. Prov. 3: 33-34 Hard Truths The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools. Prov.3:35

The mercies of the Lord

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, mercy shall be built up forever,Your faithfulness you shall establish in the very heavens.I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn to my servant David,Your seed I will establish forever and build up your throne to all generations.Psalm 89:1-4 The heavens will praise your wonders And the heavens will praise your wonders Oh LordYour faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints. For who in he assembly can be compared to the Lord?Who among the sons of the mighty can be compared to the LordPsalm89:5-6 Lets have time for God's work One reason why the Apostle Paul did not marry was that he wanted to have more time for God's ministry. In 1 Corinthians 7 :33, Paul says in the Good News Version of the bible, "But a married man concerns himself with worldly matters, because he wants to please his wife and so he is pulled in two directions

Putting aside every weight

“Therefore, we also since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us put aside every weight and the sin, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” Hebrews 12:1 The author and finisher of our faith Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him who endured such hostility, from sinners against Himself lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. Hebrews 12:2-3 Strengthen the feeble hands Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down and the feeble knees, And make straight paths for your feet so that what is lame may not be dislocated but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all people and holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:12-13 The life of a Christian in the contemporary world is not an easy one. Though

You visit the Earth with your Presence

You visit the earth and water it, you greatly enrich it, and the river of God is full of water: you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. Psalm 65:9, 11 You crown the earth with your goodness You crown the year with your goodness, and your paths drip with abundance, they drop on the pastures of the wilderness and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks: The valleys are also covered with grain, they shout for joy they also sing. Psalm 65:11-12 Bless our God Oh bless our God, you peoples! and make the voice of his praise to be heard, whop keeps our soul among the living and does not allow our feet to be moved. Psalm 66:8-9. Last Sunday , Ghana's President John Kufuor went Church (Catholic) to thank God for his life after an accident on November 14, 2007. The President has been joined by both his friends and opponents who saw his survival as a sign of God's redemption. Indeed, Ghanaians have realized the mighty hand of God in their

Show a gentle attitude

Show a gentle attitude towards every one the lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers, ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart and God’s peace which is far beyond human understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus. Philippians 4 :5-7 Remain in Him If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish and you shall have it. John 15:7 It pays to be gentle As Christians we must learn to be gentle and live at peace with all men and women in spite of how difficult they may be. Working in a group or team brings to the fore, the different shades of opinion, character and temperaments. There are some people who are very difficult to work with, be with or live with. These are the people we must learn to love and intercede for. Fervent prayers will make it easier for us to tolerate them and also if they do not Christ, our prayers can draw them closer to the saving knowled

Seven things the Lord hates

There are seven things the Lord hates and cannot tolerate. A proud look, A lying tongue Hands that kill innocent people A mind that thinks up wicked plans Feet that hurry off to do evil A witness who tells one lie after another And someone who stirs up trouble among friends. Prov.6 20. Good News Bible. The Lord hates the Scornful Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners nor sitteth on the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the lord and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1 :1 &2.Psalm 1:3 The Lord cares for those who obey his word. It was the great writer Solomon who observed that, the Lord hates certain attitudes and behaviours which are sometimes common among human beings. Tellings lies, back biting and undermining all fallen within these behaviours. It is therefore important for us as christians we to put aside all these and focus our atttention on pleasing our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

He has chosen you

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you and ordained you, that you should go and bring fourth fruit, that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the father in my name, He may give it to you. John 15 :16 You will bear good fruit They are like trees that grow beside the stream that bear fruit at the right time and whose leaves do not dry up. Psalm 1:3 Our fruit will be obvious Bearing fruit or impacting positively on our generation is one of the key promises in the bible for the children of God. We have all been chosen by God, As John puts it, one of the purposes for our call is for us to bear fruits that will remain. That means we will win souls who will remain in the Lord, we will become prosperous and remain proesperous and healthy. we will do wonders so long as we stay in the arms of Jesus. Today, if the leaves are drying up in your life, you can rely on God's true son Jesus Chirst to bring a refreshing into your life and plant you beside the pools where y

He protects His own

The Lord Jesus knows His children and he protects them all the time. Let us continue to worship him and give Him all our thanks. This week, I want us to reflect on Psalm 23. This psalm is one of the wonderful hymns David wrote in his lifetime. Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd I have everything I need He lets me rest in fields of green pasturesand leads me to quite pools of fresh water He gives me new strength He guides me in the right pathsas he has promised Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid Lord for you are with me Your Shepherd's rod and staff protect me You prepare a banquet for me Where all my enemies can see me You welcome me as an honoured guest and fill my cup to the brim I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life And your house will be my home all my life. I look up to you Lord

Another Sunday is here and I wish to share with you this wonderful song and prayer in Psalm 123. If this is your prayer today too, may God quickly answer you. Psalm 123 “Lord, I look up to you, up to heaven, where you rule. As a servant depends on his master, As a maid depends on her mistress So we will keep looking to you Oh Lord our God Until you have mercy on us. Be merciful to us, Lord be merciful We have been treated with so much contempt We have been mocked too long by the rich And scorned by proud oppressors.”

Our protector is always awake

Deuteronomy 33 : 3 says the lord loves his people and protects those who belongs to him. This is very true and I want you to try it. The almighty God who makes streams in deserts in order to give comfort to the thirsty is able to protect you from all harm. Psalm 121 states “My help comes from the Lord Who makes heaven and earth, He will not let you fall, your protector is always awake, The protector of Israel never dozes or sleeps, The lord will guard you, He is by your side to protect you, The sun will not hurt you during the day, nor the moon during the night. The Lord will protect you from all danger, He will keep you safe. He will protect you as you go and come, now and forever more. Amen.

The righteous will flourish like palm trees

The righteous will flourish like Palm trees “The Righteous will flourish like palm trees, They will grow like the cedars of Lebanon. “They are like trees planted in the House of the lord” Psalm 92: 12-13. (Good News Bible) I do not know why I love reading the Psalms; perhaps I love the character of David who wrote much of it under the direction of the Holy Spirit. I believe the whole book of Psalms touches on every day life, the fears, the anxiety, the fever, eh weariness, the fret of every day life. The fears and whispers, the innermost fear that comes to mind minute after minute, their answers are all in the book of Psalms. If you hardly read this wonderful book, please begin right now because God has in store a lot of treasure to help you in your daily living, to secure firmly your anchor in Him.

Lets praise God together

It is a Sunday in October and I am thousands of miles away from my home, my family and my church. Feeling homesick I found a lot of delight and comfort in his great bible text and I hope it comforts you too and bring blessings to your soul. Psalm 95 Come let us praise the Lord, Let us sing for joy to God, Let us come before him with thanksgiving, And sing joyful songs of praise For the Lord is a mighty God, a mighty King over all gods, He rules over the whole earth From the deepest caves to the highest hills. He rules over the sea which he made And land also which he himself formed Come let us bow down and worship him, Let us kneel before the Lord our maker He is our God, We are the people he cares for The flock for which he provides Listen today to what he says Don’t be stubborn as your ancestors were in Merbah As they were that day in the desert at Massah There they put me to the test and tried me Although they had seen what I did for them For forty years, I was disgusted with those

In Berlin by the Grace of God

Last Monday, October 22, 2007 the Lord made it possible for me to be here again in Berlin at the invitation of the Capacity Building organization of Germany INWENT and the Office of the German President Horst Kohler as part of preparations towards the German/ EU-African Summit on Development Cooperation. In all ten media personalities from seven African countries were invited. They Included Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Kenya. Four of us had the opportunity to ask the German President questions about the Millennium Development Goals, the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) etc. In all these, I give God the glory for giving me the opportunity to appear before great men and put questions concerning the development of Africa to them. For me all I can say is that it is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in my eyes. Of course we should be happy when God makes it possible for us to meet great human leaders. President Kohler’s African initiative is commendable

He keeps your gates strong and your borders safe

Praise the Lord O Jerusalem Praise your God O Zion He keeps your gates strong He blesses your people He keeps your borders safe and satisfies you with the finest wheat he gives a command to the earth and what he says is quickly done Psalm 147: 12-15 This Psalm reminds us of God's goodness to his people, his protective power over out lives. It is by His grace that our enemies have not triumphed over us. we should remember these and give Him praise everyday.

He trains me for battle

Praise the Lord my protector, he trains me for battle and prepares me for war he is my protector and defender my shelter and saviour in whom I trust for safety He subdues the nations under me. Psalm 144: 1&2 Dear friends, This wonderful psalm tells us how the almighty God prepares us or our everyday challenges. There are several battles in our lives as Christians . This could be related to our marriages , our jobs, our businesses and about our role as parents We can trust the holy spirit to give us ideas and counsel on how to handle all these problems. Since Jesus our Shepherd is alive, we do not have to feel alone or shattered in face of daunting challenges, eh holy spirit is with us to help us out of our difficult situations. God has already prepared you for that challenge you are facing now, so invite the holy spirit to lead you on this journey of life. God richly bless you for visiting this site again. With love from Berlin

God is good all the time. On the 5th day of August 2007, I arrived in Berlin, Germany for a two week professional training course in management. Looking at the changes in the weather pattern in Berlin, and how God in his own wisdom brought down the walls that separated the east from the west and brought the people together again to build a formidable society,is a pointer to the fact that unity is important for development. My prayer is that may God bring together all divided African societies, who are torn apart along ethnic, tribal, political and religious lines to build a better society for themselves and their children. The almighty God who creates streams in deserts is able and will do it. His wish for us is that we may prosper and be in health even as our souls propereth. God bless you today and always. Vindicate me O Lord

This morning, the holy spirit gave me the opportunity to reflect on this wonderful psalm which I stumbled upon in my inbox from Beliefnet and I really want to share it with you. May the holy spirit guide you through it and seal your prayer as you meditate on these words Psalm 26 Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Ever doubt yourself? Find out how to keep moving forward Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and mind. For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in faithfulness to you. I do not sit with the worthless, nor do I consort with hypocrites; I hate the company of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked. I wash my hands in innocence, and go around your altar, O LORD, singing aloud a song of thanksgiving, and telling all your wondrous deeds. O LORD, I love the house in which you dwell, and the place where your glory abides. Do not sweep me away with sinners, nor my life with the bloodthir

The Lord is my help

Today, July 3, 2007 is my eighth wedding anniversary. Also ten years ago today, I was admitted at a hospital in the Eastern part of, Accra, Ghana called Manna Mission Hospital with Typhoid fever. The head of the hospital Rev. Dr. Seth Ablorh, a Chicago trained Ghanaian Christian doctor took time to discuss not only my physical health, but also spiritual and emotional well-being. As I celebrate God's providence through eight years of marriage and motherhood, I am really grateful to Him for my life and the new family he has given me. I am also grateful to God for my parents and siblings and my entire family. Again and as I count my blessings after my illness in 1997, I cannot help but share this wonderful psalm which I also received from Beliefnet this morning. God belss you for being obedient to his word. Psalm 121 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved, he who keeps

In the night my conscience warns me

Psalm 16 verse verse 7 says "I praise the Lord because he guides me, and in the night my conscience warns me." This is a wonderful text that reveals how God guides and protects His children. It also tells of the work of the holy spirit which works through our conscience guiding us and protecting us from evil and harm. How good it sounds to hear that even while we are sleeping the Lord warns us. The experience of the Psalmist who wrote this wonderful text and ours are no different . As we lie down, we may receive revelations through dreams or an idea may drop into my conscience or spirit. As it happens, we should know that our conscience is warning us, according to the guidance and spirit of the Lord. With this we may never strike our foot against the stone and even if we do not ehrken to teh warnings and we do strike our feet, the Holy Spirirt will guide us and soothe the pain and make sure that we are not harmed. Is this not wonderful news to hear? God bless you th

Save us Lord, give us success today and always

"Save us Lord , Save Us, Give Us success O Lord!." This is what is recorded in Psalm 118:25. The Psalmist in the midst of praising the Lord and affirming his trust in Him, cries out with this prayer. Today, as we worship God and and affirm our trust in Him, we too can say the prayer that was said many many years ago which is still relevant and potent as the first day it was said. We may need relief from unprogressive jobs, strained relationships, a marriage that is heading for the rocks, financial distress, abusive partners etc, etc. Whatever your problems may be, and what ever your desires are, the Lord will do something about them if we delight ourselves in Him. Therefore, as we delight ourselves in God and follow His law, we can humbly shout to the Lord to bring us success, good success, prosperity, advancement and progress in all areas of our lives.

His mercies are fresh every morning

The first quarter of the year 2007 has passed and the almighty God has been good to us all. Indeed, the steadfast love of the Lord Never ceases and his faithfulness never comes to an end. Every morning as we wake up from bed, there is a basketful of fresh love, much hope and and unquantifiable annointing for us from the Holy Spirit our Comforter. Therefore let us repeat psalm 118:1 "O give thanks unto teh Lord, for He is good for His mercies endures forever." Amen Isabella Gyau Orhin

He has the answer

Ghana and other African countries at large are going through energy crisis leading to blackouts in their cities for several hours day and night. Citizens have become disillusioned and stressed out as a result of the constant darkness. Businesses are fast collapsing and hundreds of workers are losing t heir jobs. As politicians feverishly search for solutions for these problem- without much hope, it is incumbent on African Christians to take up the issue and do what we know best , pray. Prayer moves mountains and it can change the fortunes of the continent. The bible says we should ask and we shall be given , we should knock and it shall be opened to us. Elijah according to the bible was a human being like us, but he prayed and suspended rainfall for three years and later commanded the rains to fall. Chirstians of today can also have the same effect like Elijah. The same spirit of God that rested upon Elijah is also resting upon us," lets take up the battle o

Do not cling to the past

Are there events of the past that are haunting you in your christian life? Sometimes past events be they sin or mistakes can continuously drag us back in our walk with God. The Good News Bible Version of Isaiah 43:18 states "But the Lord Says, Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago. Watch for the new thing that I am going to do, it is happening already, you can see it now." The word of God is asking us to put the past behind us and forge ahead in victory. there is certainly more and better things ahead than whatever we might have lost in the past. Dwelling on past mistakes a nd sins will not help us grow in the Lord.. Wherever we fell, let us rise up from the place and continue the journey, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. By Isabella Gyau Orhin Accra, March 15, 2007

Ghana @ 50: To God be the Glory

The ace Ghanaian Gospel singer Grace Ashy has composed a wonderful song to celebrate Ghana's 50 Th independence anniversary. The Song states in part "Unto God be the Glory, Ghana is 50 years old," and I agree with her. This nation Ghana, with a population of about 20 million people perched on the west Coast of Africa has so much to thank God for after 50 years of independence full of checkered history. But as Psalm 66: 9 says "He has preserved our lives and prevented our feet from slipping." Indeed God has preserved the lives of Ghanaians. So many nations in Sub-Saharan Africa went to war in the 1980s and 1990s but Ghana stayed together amidst political differences. Though some are arguing that there is nothing to celebrate, for me we can celebrate the fact that our ethnic differences and political strife have not ended in war, and that the almighty God who took care of the country 50 year ago, has not abandoned us for our enemies to trample over us. Even

Be of good Cheer

As Christians we are constantly in battle against the enemy and against all odds. As we engage in our battles, there is the tendency for us to feel discouraged or disappointed. Beloved, let us claim victory constantly because the word of God attests to our victory all the time. We are more than conquerors as we pull down the strongholds of the enemy; the barriers, the walls, the hindrances placed on our paths as we strive for a life full of godliness and contentment which according to the bible is a great gain. The word of God says "In the world you will have tribulations, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." So look cheerful today. Like Pastor Anita Oyakhilome of Love World Inc. fame will say "Look in the mirror and tell yourself" I am an overcomer, I can only get better, I can only progress and declare that I have won all my battles, past present and future in Jesus name Amen. The Lion of Judah has won

The Lion of Judah has done it again Jesus, has won the battle It was a battle that seemed hopeless, Against Powers that were deemed strong and mighty Powers that could desroy, overwhelm and over turn I turned to the Lord for help He did not turn me back. Amidst the weariness, and fret He hugged me When my freinds left me To join my enemies He stayed close, The Holyghost, lifelong comforter Was there to guide and to cheer He revelaed Himself through His word Be bold my child Be strong for I am with you wherever you go This became my weapon Throughout the night The Lord stayed with me He watched my going out And my coming in He watched as I moved my being Among lions and wolves and vipers He watched my door As I laid down to sleep He accompanied me to the bathroom Where a trap was set for me Instead of my feet, The trap has entangled its owner And like David My soul has escaped like a bird Great fear has fallen over my enemies Because the Lord is on my side What can man do unto me

Don't let wine tempt you

Dear friend, there are many of us who feel it does not matter if a christian takes alcohol or not. Infact one popular advert slogan on Alcohol in my country Ghana is "Smoooooth." But the Good News Bible Version of Proverbs 23:29 says"Don't let wine tempt you, even though it is rich red, though it sparkles in the cup and it goes down smoothly. The writer of Proverbs, one of the wisest people that ever lived knew why he was advising us, for me I agree with him. God bless you for visiting this site. By Isabella Orhin Accra Ghana

The Love of the Lord

How did you spend yesterday? Were you all over eh place, kissing women and thinking that you were happy? Ture love and happiness only comes from the lord our God who made heaven and earth. He is the one who loved us and sent his son Jesus to die for our sins. If you have any love to cherish and thank God, for on a Valentine's day, it should be first and foremost the love of Christ, which is refelcted in His death aon the cross. What a wonderful love that has opened such an avenue for us.

Your Spiritual Growth and Prosperity

This year should be an exciting one for us as we desire more and more to grow spiritually from one stage in our Christian life to the other. Author and Christian teacher, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome in His Book "Don't Stop Here," says there are four stages in a Christian's journey through life just like that of Elijah and Elisha's journey to Jordan before Elijah was taken up to heaven amidst flames of fire. We start from Gilgal where we receive Christ into our lives. Then we move on to Bethel where we make commitments to God. From Bethel the journey is towards Jericho where we become wariors and breakdown every barrier, hitches and stumbling blocs on our way. But Pastor Chris does not encourage us to stay on at Jericho, instead he encourages us to move on to Jordan where our spiritual maturity becomes complete and where the little foxes that disturb us cannot reach us anymore. It is my hope that this year, you will move quickly from wherever you by spending less tim

Have an exciting year :It is well

Beloved, it is well with us, no matter what we are going through. It is the beginning of a new year, and the devil is looking for all avenues to destroy us, attacking us and our families with diseases and trying very hard to frighten us. But let us remember that His grace is sufficient for us and that His strengh is made perfect in our weaknesses. Also, His word says that when we pass through the waters, he will be with us. So Jesus is with us in these storms of ill-health and other problems, let us keep trusting Him, He will take us through and we will arrive safely. Amen
