For the righteous will never be moved

Praise the LORD! Happy are those who fear the LORD, who greatly delight in his commandments. Their descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful, and righteous. It is well with those who deal generously and lend, who conduct their affairs with justice. For the righteous will never be moved; they will be remembered forever. Psalm 112: 1-6 Secure in the LORD They are not afraid of evil tidings; their hearts are firm, secure in the LORD. Psalm 112: 7 Their hearts are steady Their hearts are steady, they will not be afraid; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. They have distributed freely, they have given to the poor; their righteousness endures forever; their horn is exalted in honor. Psalm 112:8-9 They melt away The wicked see it and are angry; they gnash their teeth and me

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you know that friendship with world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the scriptures say in vain, the spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? But He gives more grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble” James 4:1-6 Cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your hearts Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and He will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you Cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your hearts, you double- minded Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laugh

But the Lord shall endure forever.

I will praise You O Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all your marvelous works I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to you name O most High. When my enemies turn back they shall fall and perish at your presence. For you have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness. You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked You have blotted out their name forever and ever. O enemy destructions are finished forever! And you have destroyed cities even their memories have perished. But the Lord shall endure forever. He has prepared His throne for judgment. Psalm 9:1-7 For you Oh Lord have not forsaken those who seek you He shall judge the world in righteousness and He shall administer judgment for the peoples in uprightness The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble And those who know your name will put their trust in you; for you Oh Lord have not forsaken those who seek you Psalm 9:8-10 C

The wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience

Set you mind on things above not on things on the earth For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry. Because of these things, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience In which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are top put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds And have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. Colossians 3:2-10 Bearing with one another and forgiving one another Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Therefore as the e

And blessed is he who takes no offense at me

Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, "Are you he who is to come, or shall we look for another?" And Jesus answered them, "Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them. And blessed is he who takes no offense at me." Mathew 11: 2-6 A reed shaken by the wind? As they went away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to behold? A reed shaken by the wind? Why then did you go out? To see a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, those who wear soft raiment are in kings' houses. Mathew 11: 7-8 To see a prophet? Why then did you go out? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is he, of whom it is written, Mathew 11: 9 A messenger 'Behold, I send a messen

He might show the exceeding riches of His grace

But God, who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which he loved us, Even when we were dead in trespasses made us alive together with Christ (buy grace you have been saved). And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His loving kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of your selves, it is the gift of God, Not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:4-10 Aliens from the commonwealth of Israel Therefore remember that you, once gentiles in the flesh-who are called uncircumcision by what is called the circumcision made in the flesh by hands- That at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenant of pr

Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity

My heart overflows with a goodly theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe. You are the most handsome of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your glory and majesty. In your majesty ride on victoriously for the cause of truth and to defend the right; let your right hand teach you dread deeds. Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; the peoples fall under you. Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity; you love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions; Psalm 45: 1-7 Since he is your lord, bow to him; Your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad; daughters of kings are among your ladies of honor; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of

Why have you conceived this thing in your heart?

But a certain man named Ananias with Saphira his wife sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid at the apostles feet. But Peter said “Ananias why has satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? “While I remained was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias hearing these words fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. And the young men arose and wrapped him up carried him out and buried him. Acts 5; 1-6 Lying about the truth Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said “Yes for so much” Acts 5:7-8 Testing the spirit Then Peter said to her,

It is an unruly evil full of deadly poison.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue; it is an unruly evil full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and father and with it we curse men who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree my brethren bear olives? Or a grapevine bears figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh. James 3: 6- 12 Do not boast and lie against truth. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self seeking in your hearts, do not

Do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ in partiality

My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ in partiality. For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, And you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place and say to the poor man “you stand there”, “or “sit here at my footstool” Have you not shown partiality among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom? Which he promised to those who love Him? James 2:1-5 But you have dishonoured the poor man But you have dishonoured the poor man Do no the rich oppress and drag you into the courts? Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called If you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, “You shall love your neighbour as yourself,” you do well; But if you show partiality, you com

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?

The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the waters Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart Who has not lifted his soul to an idol Nor sworn deceitfully He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face Lift up your heads O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors And the King of Glory shall come in Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle Psalm 24:1-8 He is the King of Glory Lift up your heads O you gates! Lift up you everlasting doors! And the king of glory shall come in Who is this king of glory, the Lord of hosts, He is the king of glory Psalm 24: 9-10 They stumbled and fell. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear, The Lord i

“Sing us one of the songs of Zion”

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, there we sat down, yea there we wept when we remembered Zion. We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it. For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song and those who plundered us requested mirth saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion” How shall we sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land If I forget you Oh Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth- If I do not remember Jerusalem above my chief joy. Remember O God against the sons of Edom. The day of Jerusalem, who said raze it, raze it to its very foundation” O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed, happy the one who repays you as you have served us Happy the one who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock. Psalm 137. For you have magnified your word against all your name I will praise you with my whole heart; before the gods, I will sing praises to You. I will worship

“Out of the mouth of babes and infants you have ordained strength

O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth, who have set your glory above the heavens! “Out of the mouth of babes and infants you have ordained strength, because of your enemies, that you may silence the enemy and the avenger, When I consider you heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that you are mindful him, and that son of man that You visit him? For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and you have crowned him with glory and honour You have made him to have dominion over the work of your hands; you have put all things under his feet All sheep and oxen-even the beasts of the field. The birds of the air, the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:1-9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth Lead me O Lord in your righteousness Because of my enemies; make your way straight before my face For there is no

The Lord is for me among those who help me

The Lord is on my side I will not fear, What can man do tome The Lord is for me among those who help me Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in Man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in Princes. All nations surrounded me but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them They surrounded me like bees; they were quenched like a fire of thorns, For in the name of the Lord, I will destroy them You pushed me violently that I might fall but the Lord helped me The Lord is my strength and song and He has become my salvation Psalm 118: 4-14 The right hand of the Lord does valiantly, The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tent of the righteous: The right hand of the Lord does valiantly, The right hand of the lord is exalted, The right hand of the lord does valiantly Psalm 118:15-16 The stone which the builders rejected I shall not die but live And declare the goodness of the lord in the Land o
