I call to remembrance my song in the night

I cried out to the Lord with my voice-to God with my voice and he gave ear to me In the day of my trouble, I sought the Lord; my hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing, my soul refused to be comforted I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed You hold my eyelids open; I am so troubled I cannot speak I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart and my spirit makes diligent search Will the Lord cast off forever? Will He be favourable no more? Has His mercy ceased forever? Has His promise failed forevermore? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Psalm 77:1-9 Your way Oh Lord is in the sanctuary And I said this is my anguish; but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High I will remember the Works of the Lord, Surely I will remember the works of old I will also meditate on your work and talk of

He shall cover you with His feathers

He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortresss; my God in Him, I will trust Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge His truth shall be your shield and buckler You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, or the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lay waste at noonday A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High your dwelling place, Psalm 91:1-9 He shall give his angels charge over you No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. For He shall give his angels charge over you to

The Lord is on my side I will not fear,

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in Man The Lord is on my side I will not fear, What can man do to me The Lord is for me among those who help me Therefore I shall see my desire on those who hate me It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in Man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in Princes. All nations surrounded me but in the name of the Lord I will destroy them They surrounded me like bees; they were quenched like a fire of thorns, For in the name of the Lord, I will destroy them You pushed me violently that I might fall but the Lord helped me The Lord is my strength and song and He has become my salvation Psalm 118: 4-14 The right hand of the Lord is exalted The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tent of the righteous: The right hand of the Lord does valiantly, The right hand of the lord is exalted, The right hand of the lord does valiantly Psalm 118:15-16 The stone which the builders rejected I shall not die

Our mouth was filled with laughter

When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. Psalm 126:1-2 They shall come home with shouts of joy, Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like the watercourses in the Negeb. May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves. Psalm 126:3-5 We would have been swallowed alive by our enemies If the Lord had not been on our side, Let all Israel admit it If the Lord had not been on our side, We would have been swallowed alive by our enemies Destroyed by their anger, we would have been drowned beneath the flood of these men’s fury and pride. Psalm 124:1-5 We have escaped with our lives Blessed be Jehovah who has not let them devour us We have escaped
Who redeems your life from destruction Bless the Lord Oh my soul; and all that is within me bless His holy name Bless the Lord Oh my soul and forget not his benefits Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving-kindness And tender mercies Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep his anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities Psalm 103: 1-10 He has removed our transgressions For as the heavens are high above the earth So great are his mercy towards those who fear Him As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our tran

He might show the exceeding riches of His grace

But God, who is rich in mercy because of His great love with which he loved us, Even when we were dead in trespasses made us alive together with Christ (buy grace you have been saved). And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His loving kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of your selves, it is the gift of God, Not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:4-10 The law of commandments Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace. And that he might reconcile them both to God in one body though the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And h

And the meditation of my heart will be understanding.

Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, Both low and high, Rich and poor together. My mouth will speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart will be understanding. I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle on the harp. Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the iniquity of my foes surrounds me, Even those who trust in their wealth And boast in the abundance of their riches? Psalm 49:1-6 For the redemption of his soul is costly, No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him— For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever— That he should live on eternally, That he should not undergo decay. For he sees that even wise men die; The stupid and the senseless alike perish And leave their wealth to others. Psalm 49: 7-10 He is like the beasts that perish . Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called their land

For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday

Lord you have been our dwelling place in all the generations Before the mountains were brought forth or ever, You had formed the earth and the world Even from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You turn man to destruction, And say “return Oh children of men” For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday When it is past and like a watch in the night. You carry them away like a flood, they are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up In the morning it flourishes and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers. For we have been consumed by your anger and by your wrath we are terrified You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of your countenance Psalm 90:1-8 Their boast is only labour and sorrow; For all our days have passed away in your wrath, We finish our years like a sigh The days of our lives are seventy years And if by any reason of strength, They are eighty years old, Yet their boast is only labour and sorrow; F

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble

Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have, you murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that scripture says in vain, “The spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?” But he gives more grace. Therefore he says “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:1-6 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up Therefore submit to God, resist the Devil and He will flee from you Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. Lament and mourn and

He is the one who made everything

The Lord made the earth by His power; By His wisdom He created the world And stretched out the heavens At His command, the waters above the sky roar; He brings cloud from the ends of the earth He makes lightning flash in the rain and sends the winds from His store room At the sight of this, people feel stupid and senseless Those who make idols are disillusioned, because the gods they make are false and lifeless They are worthless and should be despised They will be destroyed when the Lord comes to deal with them The God of Jacob is not like them. He is the one who made everything And He has chosen Israel to be His own very people. The Lord Almighty is His name. Jeremiah 10 12-16 I will make you well again But now, all who devour you will be devoured And all your enemies will be taken away as prisoners All who oppress you will be oppressed And all who plunder you will be plundered I will make you well again I will heal your wounds Though your enemies say: ‘Zion is an outcast, no one c

In the heavens he has set a tent for the sun

The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard; yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens he has set a tent for the sun, which comes out like a bridegroom from his wedding canopy, and like a strong man runs its course with joy. Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them; and nothing is hid from its heat. Psalm 19: 1-6 The commandment of the LORD is clear, The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the LORD are sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is clear, enlightening the eyes; Psalm 19: 7-8 The ordinances of the LORD are true The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the LORD are true and righte

He will uproot you from the land of the living

Why do you boast, O mighty one, of mischief done against the godly? All day long you are plotting destruction. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, you worker of treachery. You love evil more than good, and lying more than speaking the truth. Selah You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue. But God will break you down forever; he will snatch and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. Selah Psalm 52: 1-5 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. The righteous will see, and fear, and will laugh at the evildoer, saying, “See the one who would not take refuge in God, but trusted in abundant riches, and sought refuge in wealth!” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. Psalm 52:6-8 I will proclaim your name I will thank you forever, because of what you have done. In the presence of the faithful I will proclaim your name, for it is good. Psalm 52:9 He looks upon the child

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence and with singing Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us and not we ourselves, We are His people and the sheep of His pasture Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise Be thankful to Him and bless His name For the Lord is good and His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100 The time to favour her is now But You Oh Lord shall endure forever and the remembrance of your name to all generations You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favour her, yes the set time has come For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favour to her dust So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord and all the kings of the earth your glory. For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory He shall regard the prayer of the destitute and shall not despise their prayer Psalm 102 : 12-17 The Lord is great in Zion The Lord i

The snares of death confronted me

I will love you O Lord, my strength The Lord is my rock and my fortress And my deliverer; my God my strength In whom I will trust. My shield And the horn of my salvation, My stronghold. I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised So shall I be saved from my enemies The pangs of death surrounded me And the flood of ungodliness made me afraid The sorrows of shoel surrounded me, The snares of death confronted me In my distress I called upon the Lord And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from his temple And my cry came before Him, even to His ears Psalm 18:1-6 Devouring fire from His mouth Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of the hills also quaked And were shaken because He was angry Smoke went up from His nostrils And devouring fire from His mouth Coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, And came down with darkness under his feet And rode upon a cherub and flew He flew upon the wings of the wind He made darkness his secret place His

The wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience

Set you mind on things above not on things on the earth For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry. Because of these things, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience In which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are top put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds And have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him. Colossians 3:2-10 Bearing with one another and forgiving one another Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. I will not fear, what can man do to me?

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! For his mercy endures forever. Let Israel now say, His mercy endures for ever, Let the House of Aaron now say, His mercy endures forever Let those who fear the Lord now say His mercy endures forever I called to the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place The Lord is on my side, I will not fear, what can man do to me? You have a reputation of being alive... but…

These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead., Wake up, strengthen what remains and is about to die For I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember therefore, what you have received and heard, obey it and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief and you will not know what time I will come to you. Revelations 3:1-3 He who overcomes will like them be dressed in white Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes, they will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes Will like them be dressed in white, I will never blot out his name from the book of life but will acknowledge His name before my father and His angels. He, who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches. Revelations 3:4-6 An open door that no one can shut I know your deeds, see; I have placed before you,

You called in trouble and I delivered you,

Sing aloud to God our strength; make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob Raise a song and strike the timbrel, the pleasant harp and the lute Blow the trumpet at the time of the new moon on our solemn feast day For this is a statute for Israel, a law of the God of Jacob This He established in Joseph as a testimony when he went throughout the land of Egypt where I heard a language, I did not understand I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the Basket You called in trouble and I delivered you, I answered you in the secret place of thunder I tested you at the waters of Meribah, There shall be no foreign God among you or shall you; nor shall you worship any foreign god Psalm 81:1-9 Open your mouth wide and I will fill it . His holy mountain, beautiful in elevation

Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised in the city of our God. His holy mountain, beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King. Within its citadels God has shown himself a sure defense. Then the kings assembled, they came on together. Psalm 48: 1-4 As we have heard, so have we seen As soon as they saw it, they were astounded; they were in panic, they took to flight; trembling took hold of them there, pains as of a woman in labor, as when an east wind shatters the ships of Tarshish. As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God, which God establishes forever Selah Psalm 48: 5-8 Your right hand is filled with victory We ponder your steadfast love, O God, in the midst of your temple. Your name, O God, like your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with victory. Let Mount Zion be glad, let the towns of Judah rejoice because of your judgments. Psa

You do not give them up to the will of their enemies. The LORD sustains them on their sickbed; in their illness you heal all their infirmities. As for me, I said, “O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.” My enemies wonder in malice when I will die, and my name perish And when they come to see me, they utter empty words, while their hearts gather mischief; when they go out, they tell it abroad. Who honor those who fear the Lord

O LORD, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill? Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right, and speak the truth from their heart; who do not slander with their tongue, and do no evil to their friends, nor take up a reproach against their neighbors; in whose eyes the wicked are despised, but who honor those who fear the LORD; who stand by their oath even to their hurt; who do not lend money at interest, and do not take a bribe against the innocent. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue; it is an unruly evil full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and father and with it we curse men who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree my brethren bear olives? Or a grapevine bears figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh. James 3: 6- 12 Do not boast and lie against truth Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self seeking in your hearts, do not

His praise shall continually be in my mouth

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad Oh magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together I sought the Lord and he heard me and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to him and were radiant and their faces were not ashamed This poor man cried out and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles The angel of the Lord encamps around all around those who fear him and delivers them. Psalm 34: 1-7 Come you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit Depart from evil and do good seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:11-14 His ears are open to their cry. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut o

Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people

Praise the LORD! O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. Who can utter the mighty doings of the LORD, or declare all his praise? Happy are those who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times. Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people; help me when you deliver them; that I may see the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory in your heritage. Both we and our ancestors have sinned; we have committed iniquity, have done wickedly. Psalm 106: 1-6 Yet he saved them for his name's sake, Our ancestors, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wonderful works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled against the Most High at the Red Sea. Yet he saved them for his name's sake, so that he might make known his mighty power. He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry; he led them through the deep as through a desert. Psalm 106: 7-9

Does not the potter have power over the clay?

Does not the potter have power over the clay? From the same lump to make one vessel for honour and one vessel for dishonour? What if God wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known endured with much long suffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction. And that he might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy which he had prepared beforehand for glory. Even as whom he called; not of the Jews only but also of the Gentiles? As he says also in Hosea, I will call them my people who were not my people and her beloved who was not beloved. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, “you are not my people,” there they shall be called sons of God. Romans 9; 21-27 Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel, Children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved For he will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, for the Lord shall make a short work upon the earth.

O Most High, when I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

Be gracious to me, O God, for people trample on me; all day long foes oppress me; my enemies trample on me all day long, for much fight against me. O Most High, when I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I am not afraid; what can flesh do to me? Psalm 56: 1-4 In wrath cast down the peoples, O God All day long they seek to injure my cause; all their thoughts are against me for evil. They stir up strife, they lurk, they watch my steps. As they hoped to have my life, so repay them for their crime; in wrath cast down the peoples, O God! Psalm 56 : 5-7 Then my enemies will retreat You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your record? Then my enemies will retreat in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me. Psalm 56 : 8-9 What can a mere mortal do to me? In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I am not afraid. What can a mere mortal do to me? Psalm 56 : 10-11

Those who do these things shall never be moved. Psalm 15:1-5 For they flatter themselves in their own eyes Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in their hearts; there is no fear of God before their eyes. For they flatter themselves in their own eyes that their iniquity cannot be found out and hated. The words of their mouths are mischief and deceit; they have ceased to act wisely and do good. They plot mischief while on their beds; they are set on a way that is not good; they do not reject evil. Psalm 36: 1-4 You

And the meditation of my heart will be understanding

. Psalm 49:1-6 For the redemption of his soul is costly , No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him— For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever— That he should live on eternally, That he should not undergo decay. For he sees that even wise men die; The stupid and the senseless alike perish And leave their wealth to others. Psalm 49: 7-10 He is like the beasts that perish. Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called their l

He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities Psalm 103: 1-10 He has removed our transgressions For as the heavens are high above the earth So great are his mercy towards those who fear Him As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103: 11-12 He

May the mountains yield prosperity for the people

Give the king your justice, O God, and your righteousness to a king's son. May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice. May the mountains yield prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness. May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the needy, and crush the oppressor. May he live while the sun endures, and as long as the moon, throughout all generations. May he be like rain that falls on the mown grass, like showers that water the earth. In his days may righteousness flourish and peace abound, until the moon is no more. Psalm 72: 1-7 May his foes bow down before him, May he have dominion from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. May his foes bow down before him, and his enemies lick the dust. May the kings of Tarshish and of the isles render him tribute, may the kings of Sheba and Seba bring gifts. May all kings fall down before him, all nations give him service. Psalm 72: 8-11 He redeems the

You called in trouble and I delivered you,

Sing aloud to God our strength; make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob Raise a song and strike the timbrel, the pleasant harp and the lute Blow the trumpet at the time of the new moon on our solemn feast day For this is a statute for Israel, a law of the God of Jacob This He established in Joseph as a testimony when he went throughout the land of Egypt where I heard a language, I did not understand I removed his shoulder from the burden; His hands were freed from the Basket You called in trouble and I delivered you, I answered you in the secret place of thunder I tested you at the waters of Meribah, There shall be no foreign God among you or shall you; nor shall you worship any foreign god Psalm 81:1-9 Open your mouth wide and I will fill it I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, Open your mouth wide and I will fill it. But my people will not heed my voice and Israel will have none of me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart to walk in their

Your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens.

I will sing of your steadfast love, O LORD, a forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to my servant David: ‘I will establish your descendants forever, and build your throne for all generations.’ ” Selah Let the heavens praise your wonders, O LORD, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones. Psalm 89: 1-5 You rule the raging of the sea For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD, a God feared in the council of the holy ones, great and awesome above all that are around him? O LORD God of hosts, who is as mighty as you, O LORD? Your faithfulness surrounds you. You rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them. Psalm 89: 6-9 Happy are the people, who know the festal shout, Righteousness and justice are the f
