Put The Spotlight On Jesus’ Finished Work-Joseph Prince

casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 The devil is not called the “accuser of our brethren” for nothing (Revelation 12:10). When you’ve done wrong, he will remind you of it day and night. Even when you’ve done right, he will tell you that it wasn’t good enough. The enemy just loves to bring up your failures, to put a spotlight on how your behavior has disqualified you from God’s acceptance, love and blessings. He loves to heap condemnation upon you and give you a sense of guilt and distance from God. He knows that the more condemnation and guilt you experience, the more likely you are to feel alienated from God and to live life defeated. Beloved, the only way out of this vicious circle of defeat is to put the spotlight on the finished work of Jesus. Bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

Your Part Is To Believe -Joseph Prince

Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. Acts 13:38–39 Your Part Is To Believe If there’s a part for you to play in the new covenant of grace it is simply this: to believe. So what does God want you to believe? He wants you to believe in Jesus and His finished work, that you are completely forgiven of all your sins and that Jesus’ blood cleanses you from all your unrighteousness and lawlessness. And because of Jesus’ atoning sacrifice, God wants you to believe with all your heart that He meant every word when He said, “…I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more” (Hebrews 8:12). In God’s eyes today, you are made perfectly righteous by Jesus’ finished work. The new covenant’s emphasis is to believe that

See Jesus Judged For Your Sake-Joseph Prince

Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24 To see God’s grace toward us when we are sick is to see what Jesus did for us at the cross. Just as it was important for the Israelites to eat the lamb roasted on that first Passover night before they walked free the next day, God wants you to see His provision for your healing—Jesus, the true Lamb of God—“roasted”. He wants you to see Jesus smitten by His judgment for your deliverance and redemption. Beloved, see Jesus carrying your symptoms and diseases on His own body. See Him taking one lash after another until His back was shredded to ribbons. See Him falling again and again under the brutality of the scourging, only to rise again and again for more beating until ALL your diseases were healed! Receive your healing as you receive what His perfect finished work at the cross has accomplished for y

God Is Not Out To Destroy You-Joseph Prince

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10 The Bible tells us clearly that God is a God of love , and our God of love is a good God! He is a God who longs to do good to His people. In fact, God desires to load His children with benefits every day (Psalm 68:19)! My friend, don’t ever be mistaken that a good God will give you sicknesses, diseases and all sorts of physical afflictions. God is constant and constantly good. Sicknesses, on the other hand, are always bad. They are part of the curse. Their purpose is to destroy a person. Our good God gave us His Son, Jesus, so that you may not be destroyed but have life , and have it more abundantly! The Lord does not take away your life. Instead, He gives, multiplies and restores to you life and health. The more you meditate on and believe His love and goodness toward you, the more you’ll wa

Grace Flows When You Stop Struggling-Joseph Prince

“My brother, I have plenty,” Esau answered. “Keep what you have for yourself.” But Jacob insisted, “No, if I have found favor with you, please accept this gift from me…for God has been very gracious to me. I have more than enough.” Genesis 33:9–11, NLT Most people would have given up on Jacob, the scheming deceiver and manipulator. But not God. One night, while attempting to appease the brother he had stolen from, Jacob met the Lord. He grabbed hold of the Lord and for hours, tried to wrestle a blessing from Him. What did the Lord do? He touched Jacob’s hip socket and put it out of joint, so that Jacob wound up helpless before the Lord. The Lord changed Jacob that night. He showed Jacob how it was only when Jacob’s grabbing and wrestling finally stopped that His grace was able to flow. That night, God changed Jacob’s name from “deceiver” to “prince” (Israel), and added to him blessings that were beyond his own efforts. You see, we cannot try to wrestl

Both Forgiveness And Healing Are Yours-Jospeh Prince

But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Isaiah 53:5, NLT God loves you so much that He not only caused Jesus to carry your sins, but also your diseases at the cross. Your forgiveness and healing are both part of Jesus’ finished work at Calvary. He was crushed for your sins, and He was also scourged for your healing! My friend, God has already healed you of all your diseases, afflictions and pains at the cross. You might have heard it taught that healing is a “bonus blessing” because it’s over and on top of salvation. But nothing could be further from the truth. Your salvation, purchased by Jesus at the cross, includes healing. Today, because of the cross of Jesus, you have the right to complete wholeness, both within and without. Meditate on this powerful truth and receive the healing you are believing Him for! Share this on:

God’s Favor Comes Through Faith Righteousness-Joseph Prince

I believe that the more righteousness-conscious you are, the more you will experience God’s unmerited favor. When the voice of disqualification comes to remind you of all the areas that you have fallen short in, that’s the time to turn to Jesus who qualifies you and hear His voice. This is the true fight of faith! The fight of faith is to fight to believe that you are made righteous by faith and not by works. What do you want to depend on when push comes to shove—your wavering righteousness based on works, or the perfect, rock-solid righteousness of Jesus based on faith? It is your faith in the righteousness of Jesus that gives you the right to God’s unmerited favor. Today, because of what Jesus did on the cross, you can expect good things to happen to you. You can ask God for big things and reach out to the blessed destiny that He has for you and your family. His righteousness is your right to God’s unmerited favor. Don’t let any voice of accusation tell you

Supernaturally Multiplied Back To You-Joseph Prince

Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. It pleases God when we believe that He is the giver, the blesser and that “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”. Such was the faith of Ruth the Moabitess. When she decided to make the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob her God, she found Him to be her rewarder, who lovingly provided for her, divinely guided her, jealously protected her, gloriously redeemed her from her hopeless situation and richly restored her life. Today, this same God says to you that He is your rewarder. And when He is involved in your life, you will be amply rewarded. Peter, the fisherman, would testify to that. His fishing boat, which represented his life, caught nothing the whole night. But in the morning, when the boat was returned to him after he had loaned it to

Christ, The Power And Wisdom Of God-Joseph Prince

1 Corinthians 1:24 24 ...to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. People today run after two things: miraculous signs and wonders, and knowledge. It was no different in Bible times. The apostle Paul acknowledged that “Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom”. (1 Corinthians 1:22 ) So when Paul preached Christ crucified as God’s solution to them, the message was “to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness”. (1 Corinthians 1:23 ) They didn’t understand how getting a revelation of Jesus and His death could give them the miracles they needed or the wisdom they wanted. Beloved, we don’t have to run after miracles or wisdom today. We just need to run after Jesus because He is “the power of God and the wisdom of God”. The more we know Christ and Christ crucified, the more we will have the power and wisdom of God. Several church members have s

Nothing Can Stand Up To God’s Love-Joseph Prince

Romans 8:35 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? The pastor of our Hokkien and Mandarin congregations, Pastor Mark, used to suffer from certain health problems before he became a Christian. His doctor told him that he had to be on medication for life. He also had a huge financial debt. But when he caught hold of the teaching that he is God’s beloved, he believed it totally. He also believed that nothing could be greater than God’s love for him. Today, Pastor Mark is off medication and completely delivered from that debt. God caused him to triumph over his sickness and debt because he cannot be defeated when he knows that he is God’s beloved. Tribulation, distress or persecution cannot stop your heavenly Father’s love from working on your behalf. His love for you is bigger and stronger than your financial woes, ma

God Is With You Upholding You-Joseph Prince

Isaiah 41:10 10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ It is easy to say, “Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!” when times are good. It is easy to believe that God loves you when you are on the mountain top enjoying the sunshine. But what happens when you are down in the dark valley surrounded by your enemies? Perhaps today, you are in the valley of marital, financial or bodily trouble, and you are asking, “Where is God?” My friend, He is right there with you. The God of the valleys says to you, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” When King Jehoshaphat was surrounded and outnumbered by his enemies, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel and he said to the king, “Don’t be afraid

Standing On No-Curse Ground-Joseph Prince

Genesis 8:4 4 Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. For 40 days and nights, it rained so hard that the whole world perished, except for Noah and those who were with him in the ark. At the end of 150 days, on the 17th day of the seventh month, the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. In Hebrew, the word “Ararat” means “the curse is reversed”. The waters of judgment receded, causing the ark to rest on the mountains of Ararat, on new ground where the curse is reversed. And it happened on the 17th day of the seventh month on the Feast of Firstfruits—the exact date that Jesus rose from the dead 4,000 years later! When Christ rose from the dead, we were raised together with Him. (Colossians 2:12 ). We who are in Christ our true ark stand on resurrection ground where the curse has been reversed (Galatians 3:13 ), where diseases, poverty and failures have no right to operat

Freely Receive What God Freely Gives

Romans 4:13 13 For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. God promised that you would be the heir of the world. It is the same promise that He made to Abraham. And because you are Christ’s, you are Abraham’s seed and an heir “according to the promise”. (Galatians 3:29 ) When God made this promise to you, He made it so easy for you to receive—“through the righteousness of faith”. All you have to do is believe that as the heir of the world every blessing is righteously yours because Jesus died to give them to you. He also rose from the dead to enforce them in your life. So don’t try to earn your blessings “through the law”—through your efforts or performance. Freely receive what God freely gives to you through Christ and His finished work at the cross. When a church member was retrenched at 41 years of age, he refu

God Says ‘I Will’ In The New Covenant-Joseph Prince

Hebrews 8:10,12 10 …I will put My laws in their mind…I will be their God… 12 …I will be merciful to their unrighteousness…their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” You may be feeling stressed at work today because your boss just gave you a list of things to do. Maybe he told you, “You have to type this letter. You have to meet this client. You have to write this report. You have to…” Wouldn’t it be nice if your boss had, instead, said, “I will type this letter for you. I will meet this client for you. I will write this report for you. I will…”? Well, your boss may not be that gracious, but your Father in heaven is! When He found fault with the old covenant and established the new covenant (Hebrews 8:7–8) in His Son’s blood, His “Thou shalls” became “I wills”. You see, under the old covenant, the focus is on you — Thou shall not… Thou shall not… Thou shall not…It is all about your performance, your

Who Do You Say Jesus Is?

Mark 8:29 29 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.” Do you know that how you see Jesus determines what you receive from Him? If you see Jesus as your healer, you will receive healing. If you see Jesus as your refuge and fortress, you will receive protection. The people of Nazareth, Jesus’ hometown, saw Jesus in the natural. They said of Him, “Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us?” (Matthew 13:55 –56) They saw Jesus in the natural. They did not see Him as God in the flesh. As a result, He could not do many mighty works there. (Matthew 13:58 ) Today, many people, including some philosophers, see Jesus of Nazareth as a good person who led an exemplary life. They feel that if all of us could live our lives like Him, the world would be a better

Your Sins Are Not Being Recorded-Joseph Prince

Hebrews 8:12 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” I once read a comic book which showed how a man lusted after a woman, then died of a heart attack and went to heaven. In heaven, he saw a big screen showing everyone present a recording of all the sins which he had committed while on earth, including the last one. How embarrassing! Don’t worry, that is not going to happen to you in heaven. There is no big screen with front-row and circle seats for everyone to sit and watch your past sins. There is no video recorder in heaven recording your sins right now. Because your lifetime of sins has already been punished in the body of Jesus, God declares to you, “Your sins and lawless deeds, I will by no means ever remember!” This is true even for the Old Testament heroes of faith such as Abraham, Moses and David. If you read Hebrews 11, which was written after

Jesus’ Blood Keeps On Cleansing You-Joseph Prince

1 John 1:7 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. During the day, the devil may whisper in your head, “You cannot go into God’s presence because you have not been reading your Bible and serving in church.” Or he will tell you that it is because of the sin which you have just committed. The devil will always make you feel that you are not qualified or clean enough to go near God. But the truth is, regardless of how you feel and what you have done, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. In the original Greek text, the tense for the word “cleanses” denotes a present continuous action. This means that once you are a believer, the blood of Jesus Christ keeps on cleansing you from every sin! So you can rest knowing that you are always forgiven in this continuous “wash cycle” of Jesus’ blood. Becaus

Jesus Has You Covered-Joseph Prince

Leviticus 1:4 4 Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him. Imagine the perfection of Jesus covering you from head to toe in the sight of God every moment of the day. Does that sound like a dream? My friend, that is your reality today because Jesus became your burnt offering at the cross. In the case of the burnt offering, when the offerer lays his hand on the animal sacrifice (Leviticus 1:3–4), the perfection and beauty of the unblemished sacrifice is transferred to him, and God sees and accepts him in the perfection of the animal. In Hebrew, the word “accepted” implies being treated with favor, delight and acceptance. This means that you, for whom Jesus became a burnt offering, are treated by God with favor, delight and acceptance because the beauty and perfection of Jesus have been transferred to you. As your burnt offering, Jesus ha
